General mud; memoirs of two world wars di E. L. M. Burns
A Company and Battalion level engineering officer's look at the War in France, 1917-18. As a brigadier of Armoured troops and up, he served the Army in Northwest Europe and Italy. Burns came from a family with a militia background, and was an activist during the inter war period. It's a good look at a Canadian who rose to relatively high command in our small army.
