This book is now somewhat dated, the photos are black and white, and there is a mix of information for beginners as well as more experienced beekeepers. Most of the text follows trhe tasks of the beekeeper month by month, so each chapter can be read at the right moment and then put into practice.

Good description of the basics of beekeeping. Only black and white photos, and written 25 years ago but this paperback edition updated to 1998, so it includes varroa.

Contains details on the history, chemical contents and the many uses of beeswax. The 20 illustrations are carefully chosen to make this an essentially practical book for beekeepers, wax candle and polish makers.

This book was originally a series of articles in the monthly Devon journal Beekeeping, but they have been enlarged and expanded for this book.
