Enjoyable police drama with pretty good plotting as Lieutenant Gargan must deal with the murder of an unlikable private detective and with suspect Landis, the daughter of the reform candidate for mayor--and the election is only a few days away. Roy Roberts is an evil newspaper owner, and the eventual murderer, who has quite a large part, doesn't even get a billing!
