Breve biografia
April Bostic is a New Jersey-based, Adult Romance author who enjoys unleashing her creativity and letting her imagination run wild. Her love of romance books inspired her to become not just a reader, but also a writer. In December 2008, she self-published her first novel, a contemporary romance with a supernatural twist entitled "A Rose to the Fallen".

Her first short story, "Right Here, Right Now", released in January 2012, is an erotic romance with a dash of S&M. The following year, she released two more short stories: a romantic urban fantasy inspired by the Greek myth of Eros and Psyche entitled "Eros, My Love", and a sexy romantic comedy entitled "Love Addiction".

After five years, she released her second novel, "The Howling Heart" in August 2013, a paranormal romance that delves into the mystical world of werewolves and Norse gods. To end her busiest year in publishing, April also released her fourth short story in December 2013, a historical paranormal romance entitled "A Dark Scandal".

The Howling Heart is a different kind of paranormal romance.
Paige was a city girl, had a great job, and only went back to Black River to see the cabin and what work would need doing to sell it. Little did she know Riley, hot, sexy and naked a lot wanted her to be his mate. This book has Werewolves or their proper name is Varulv and Norse Gods, which Paige didn't even know existed until she went back to Black River. A romance and sex which is quite graphic.
The story flowed really well, the character development was great and it seemed like I got to know everyone properly. I did get a little worried how the book was going to turn out as something happens that you will have to find out yourself but luckily the author didn't "go there".
Very well written and I will be looking out for more books from April Bostic.

Paige Donovan is a city girl through and through - the only family vacation that she and her parents ever went on was when she was ten years old - and while it was extremely memorable for her, the vacation did not end well. Now, she is an ambitious college graduate who aspires to reach the top of the corporate ladder. Her future is looking bright when she is given the promotion of a lifetime at a prestigious fashion magazine in New York City.

Paige's life couldn't possibly get any better, until she learns of her father's death. Understandably shaken, she is further shocked to learn she has inherited her father's old cabin in the Colorado Rockies - a cabin she and her mother had thought he sold years ago - soon after their disastrous family vacation. Just when she thinks her luck couldn't get any worse, she has a car accident in the mountains and awakens in the small, remote town of Black River.

Soon, she's engulfed in the mystical world of Varulv - wolves that migrated from 13th century Scandinavia and were blessed by Norse gods with the ability to appear human. Paige is desperate to return home, but never expects to fall for her rescuer, Riley Gray, a charming young werewolf from England who offers her an alternate future with his pack. Now, Paige is faced with the decision of a lifetime - between the career she's always wanted and the love she's always dreamed.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book - the plot was extremely engaging and captured my attention right from the start. The story was filled with sympathetic characters and was compulsively readable for me. I give The Howling Heart by April Bostic an A+! and look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Well written flashbacks can be the key to understanding an entire story. Howling Heart has a doozy of a flashback to get us off on the right foot! Career girl Paige seems to have it all going her way until her world starts to crumble. Crappy boy friend, the death of her father, and a car accident round out her trifecta of negativity.

Can she fully immerse herself in the world of the Varulv? Does she truly want to make a leap of faith for someone she barely knows?

I really like how fantasy intermingles with reality in this novel. It strikes a good balance and make it darn near impossible to put down my phone...And wish I had a bigger screen to read more faster!… (altro)

**Review written for an originally posted on my blog, Book Bliss. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased and honest review**

Review: 5 stars

General: April Bostic took the generic werewolf added some more myth and magic and made them even sexier. I loved this creative take on werewolves! Making something popular original is a wonderful accomplishment and I truly enjoyed the twist on the common werewolf creationism. I thought the storyline itself was also different and the world building was fantastic. The mystery element in the novel as Paige “learns” added a great level of tension that worked well along side the romance between Paige and Riley- which was full of heat and a fantastic pairing.

The downsides to this novel for me were extremely small but worth mentioning. I hate to grip on covers but I like a cover that fits with the book and for me this one is beautiful, but gives nothing away and I think a cover and title are as important as the wonderful story within. The other element was I felt the writing was wonderful, but the characters very stock molded. I would have liked to have seen some of the creative juices in the personality of Paige and Riley as well as the world she so wonderfully created.

Characters: Paige- I enjoyed Paige but as stated above she was a little cookie cutter romance female. She was intelligent, ambitious and didn’t take crap from anyone. Despite being cookie cutter the romance was so palpable I still enjoyed her.

Riley- Riley is all things Alpha male plus a mane of white hair most women would want to run their hands through! As with Paige if you picture and alpha male from any werewolf romance you’ve got Riley . Still a great character!
