This is the second book in a series, and Halley has to find a way to make it through camp eureka without her best friend at her side. Halley is trying to keep an old friendship alive, learn that it's ok to fail, track down her missing diary, and find a hidden treasure in camp eureka. The science and life lessons are nicely woven into the story so that it doesn't feel like they're stuck in like an add pop-up.
