board book.
too small for sharing with my storytime group (~6 inches or 15cm square), but another chuckle-worthy story from Sandra Boynton, with delightful illustrations and great repetition that moves the story along in a way that builds anticipation.

Teaching about repetition and the significance of it and what it means when the author repeats a line in the book.

This book is about a sneaky possum that is knocking at this families door. He wants to get in but when they finally open the door he's sneaky again and hides behind a tree. The little girl in the story sees the possum and no one believes her. The illustrations in this book are interesting but fit it perfectly. This book is good for rhyming but also good to talk about the trickster and how the little girl is the only one who see him.

This is an amazing story about a possum and his nightly adventures. It is an entertaining book for children that puts a positive light on an otherwise frowned upon animal.

A possum came a-knockin' on the front door while everyone in the house was busy. Only the child heard the knock, but he or she could not get anyone's attention! Finally the dog and the cat sense the possum at the door and everyone stops to listen. Pa went to check the door but the possum hid behind the tree! The possum tricked the family and made a fool of the child. This book rhymes and is a lot of fun; it is sure to put a smile on any child's face.

This is an Irish tale about a boy who accidentally flooded the town of Ballymara all because his bath tub faucets got stuck. As the water rises the town's people are in a frenzy. The flood is finally resolved when the boy boats himself back to his house and wrenches the faucets to off. He is then declared as a hero by the Mayor. On this day every year the Ballymara flood is celebrated. The story is told in rhyme which makes it a really fun read. I could read this story with the purpose of teaching students about rhyme and including an activity in which they create their own rhymes. I could also use this book to talk about remembrance days. Though this story is fictional, it would be good to share that there is always a story and a meaning behind every celebration or remembrance day.

This book tells of what happened to a town when a bathtub overflows. No one seems to know how to stop the water from filing up the town. The book rhymes with every escalating picture it depicts. The illustrations are fun. A little boy was the hero. Read and find out what simple thing he did to save his town.

Charming, sophisticated cartoon, yet down to earth in their presentation. Booth delights in music, dogs, cats, and the elderly.
