In its second volume, A Clean Well-Lighted Place remains committed to revealing innovative and inspiring work by new and emerging writers. A reader will find in this collection of poetry and short fiction a medley of voices, styles, and personalities. Contributors range from established English professors to graduate students to freelance writers across 17 states and four countries. The guiding aesthetic is cleanliness; each work displays in its own way precision of thought and meticulous crafting of sound and language. This issue continues to demonstrate the publication's ability to bring light to relatively unread and under-appreciated sectors of the literary community. It hopes to foster the sparks of upstart poets and writers like Terri Brown-Davidson, Thomas Cochran, and Nathan Hunt so they may rightly develop as the stars of a literary future.
