I liked this little book. Not one of my favorites but hey, lets be honest, I always like books with wolves in the theme. :)

This book is about 7 goats and 6 who get swallowed whole by a wolf. Their mother comes to the rescue and the wolf drowns. This story reminds me of Goldy Locks. This is a great book and I plan to share it with my future students.

I found this to be a wonderful story of a family living in the north in isolated circumstances. I first chose this book because I thought it might have an aboriginal perspective that would reflect northern Manitoba. Although the topic turned out to be much different than I expected, it was a great book and one I would share with our students.

'This book has a place in Canadian children's literature because it is a classic - a book whose text and illustrations are timeless; a book that has as much meaning twenty (or fifty) years later as it had on the day it was published.'
