Tony Blackburn

A not very taxing read, which is just what you want sometimes... I was interested to find out more about him and I did. He is strangely old fashioned in his views, and was even back in the 60s I suspect. But his early career in pirate radio and subsequent move to the BBC was interesting.

His views are a bit odd - on politics, the war in the middle east (advocating him visiting in 1 of his silly stage costumes to stop war, really!) and he purports to be cheerful and positive in his outlook - but seems to get annoyed with anything or anyone that isn't. I don't think empathy is high on his list of talents!

His enthusiasm for his job is something else though - still DJ'ing when most his age are retired, and seems to have a love of life that is enviable. Fair play to him.… (altro)
