Part One:
This book was so intense and the tension between both characters is so tangible as a reader you can feel it bleed off the pages. It does contain triggers that some readers may not like, or it may not be something they grab instantly but omg the alpha hotness is too hot to resist. Cillian is a hard working “business man” that protects his brother and is out to make money, he is also an unemotional man which knows wrong for right but will not hesitate to do things wrong or right if it benefits him. He and his twin brother pretty much run their city running drugs, owning nightclubs, and doing what it takes to make money. Where Cillian is emotionless, his brother Cole is a mean ruthless, drug addict that will not hesitate to hurt someone just because he can. So, when Cole comes up with an idea to kidnap the First Minister’s daughter since she is interfering with their drug business, Cillian goes along with it just to make sure nothings goes wrong or Cole doesn’t go off the rails. Meisie has been through a lot in her life and is hidden away from the world so she cannot be hurt or interfere with her mother’s business. She just wants to be normal but that plans gets derailed when she is kidnapped by the Hendry brothers. Cillian finds himself feelings things for Meisie even if he knows things will not end well but that does not stop him from getting close to her while also having to hurt her. There were so many twists and turns and unexpected things that came up it had me on the edge of my sit waiting to see what would happen next.

Part Two:

In the second half of this book we pick up where we left off in Part one and we still see Meisie trying to resist and fight off Cillian, but in a way, she is becoming more and more immune to him. Cillian doesn’t realize it that he is slowly falling for this chick because he has never felt this way towards anyone before. The struggle between Cillian and Meisie is intense and all over the place with tension and drama, but the one she is most afraid of is Cole. There are so many twist and turns while Meisie tries to rationalize her attraction to the man who had her kidnapped, but we get to see different sides of Cillian he shows no one not even his brother and it makes you fall in love with him too. At times I wasn’t sure which direction this story would take or if I would get the ending, I wanted, but the author’s brought everything together nicely. The world of Cillian is dark and cold, but through glimpses and Meisie we see his humanity shine through.

Cole you have struggled so much in life with all things you think the world owes you when in reality it owes you nothing and you should be thankful you are alive and can find happiness if you truly wanted to, but there is a lot to be made up for. Knowing we would get your story I was apprehensive because your actions and attitude in Cillian’s story were so horrible, I did not think that there would ever be any redemption for you to come back from. I know because of your childhood and the life you and Kill had to live has molded you into this person, but now that you are on a better path try not to self-destruct. No matter what you think there are people who love you and want to see you find your happiness, myself included now that I know more about you. I believe with all my heart yes you are cruel but deep down you have a light that needs to be lit and now I know you have found redemption, at least in my eyes.
This book was a very unexpected read that I found myself enjoying because Cole’s previous actions have pegged him as a cruel and vile person, but now that he has a second chance will be able to turn himself around or will he always turn back to his monstrous ways? I found that while reading this story that I started to feel for Cole even though he was still a hard person to get through and still didn’t like the changes that have been made and he still has resentment to those closest to him. When he is introduced to Mika, not in a pleasant way, he finds himself intrigued by her but also sees a ticket to get his old life back Poor Mika raised in strict Russian family and she is subjected to horrible things so she is looking for a way out. Running away and finding herself in Cole’s arm might be a step up from the cruelty she endured but it still isn’t the safest place. She is brave and feisty but at times still has her vulnerable moments. She traded a Bear for a Wolf, but will the Wolf help her fight the Bear away and keep her safe or will the wolf devour her too? This story has some triggers that may not be some readers cup of tea but the story itself is an amazing read and I really enjoyed it. In my eyes Cole found his redemption but it’s up to you as a reader decide if you think he has and find out if that redemption is with Mika or all alone in a cruel world.
