The book first offers a short history of the development of family law and social attitudes. Chapter 2 covers how to begin a divorce and what to expect. Mediation, litigation, other alternatives, special complications, divorce and property, family law and children, the emotional challenges of divorce and building a new life follow. This sounds comprehensive to me.
This book deserves a place in our library due to the high volume of divorces. Divorce can be horribly acrimonious, but with thought and preparation, it can be less so. While this book deals with the legal aspects of divorce, I know there are several books that deal with the religious side of divorce. After all, if God is the third party present in a marriage, God should also be a participant in a divorce, when love between two people ends. While human love can end, God’s love never ends, even for divorcees. God loves us and feels our pain as well as our joys.… (altro)
