As the "two brothers from Berkeley" might say, "Wow! What a trip!"

Came across this recently during a pre-moving book purge and couldn't bear to part with it. I'm also surprised and pleased to find that six other LibraryThingies also have it in their collection.

This is an example of some of the literature that came out during the Jesus movement of the early 1970s when some hippies married their idealism with a faith in Jesus Christ, who they saw as the ultimate rebel (but with a cause). The two brothers (brother is used in the sense of the family in Christ) paraphrased New Testament epistles into the then current vernacular in order to "get away from formal language and dusty religious rap."

At the very least, it's a period piece. For me it's a nostalgic reminder of a simpler time when I was part of a great unwashed mass of people who believed that, no matter what the question, Jesus was the answer.

Apparently the book was reprinted in the 00s and Amazon has the "two brothers" identified as Jack Sparks and Paul Raudenbush:
