chapter book translated into Spanish from Polish (printed in Italy). A black terry-cloth sock (Negro de Felpa) with a darned red hole/eyepatch escapes from the black trashbag and, while searching for his twin sister (who was lost on a child's fieldtrip), encounters other unmatched socks, each with their own stories.

a fun story, though the female character (a berry-colored sock with a little embroidered strawberry on it) is somewhat disappointing--she saves the hides of the other two socks, but then promptly swoons over a rainbow-colored sock poet. I generally enjoyed the illustrations as well as the imaginative plot, though I disagree that Cassiopeia the star queen of Ethiopia should be depicted with fair skin (wouldn't she have dark skin?)

I don't think the translation is necessarily that great (adjectives precede nouns in this text, which to my understanding isn't very common in Spanish but which might result in having a computer program translate your text word for word), so I wouldn't recommend trying to learn syntax from this book, but you might find some interesting new vocabulary.
