I think this would have been better as a standalone novel that wasn't set in the P&P universe.

The language, characters and reactions just all felt.. Wrong. I don't know if I can read any of the authors other works based on P&P after this.

Not recommended for those looking for Austen re-writes.

I didn't know how I would like this book at first because I seldom read modern adaptions, but this one grabbed my attention and held it. I am very much looking forward to the second book in the series.
