Subhro Banerjee’s book, The Lonely Waves, is an endearing story of the exploration of loneliness and isolation. Set in the mystical backdrop of India, where fate and destiny are written in the stars, the novel looks at human connection, and the idea that no man is an island.

The author masters this central focus interweaving the protagonists’ stories with a crime plot. Cyber crimes, bank frauds and a lawyer who is on the right path to disclose a criminal network is the outline for the story of three men. Arjun, Narayan and Rajeev. All three are middle-aged and have success in their careers, but it is the void and the sense of redundancy in their own lives that connects them. Arjun takes a chance call from Narayan who is friend with Rajeev. Narayan learns of the tragic loss of Arjun’s wife and he is drawn to his loneliness, by his very own.
