A smoothly flowing story, somewhat predictable, but highly captivating. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Simplistic stories set in the pre-independence era. Should read for their historical value rather than for mysteries themselves.
An easy read detective story-set. Small stories which keeps you interested till the end.

Not sure if I lost anything through the translation. Don't know Bengali to read the original.

First story Menagerie which also is the title of this book is very good too, with memorable ending.
Two short stories that are also part of this collection were not very interesting though. Writer (Saradindu Bandyopadhyay) creates interesting characters and relationships between them, which need time, might be why short stories are not very good.… (altro)
