Verity Valentine known as Very is on a mission to take down Armond Krill, owner of Parasol Pharmaceuticals where she works. Krill’s company is about to release a miracle drug that will help those with serious arthritis issues, while knowing that its main side effect can be treated only by another drug that they produce. Very has been working for years as an employee of Krill’s company, and is using her position to get the proof that she needs. Meanwhile, her next door neighbor, Jonah “Steady” Lockhart has made Very aware of his interest in her. Neither one of them is ready for a real relationship but can’t seem to keep their hands off one another.

Chemical Capture is the fifth book in the Bishop Security series, and all of the couples from previous books appear in this story. The mystery in this book takes lots of very satisfying twists and turns, and the romance between the two protagonists is enjoyable if not overly emotional. The banter is amusing and many of the romantic situations are unique, making this a very entertaining romantic suspense. Overall, Chemical Capture is a well developed, fun novel.

I have seen this series around but have not yet checked it out until now. This book can be read as a standalone book. Although, after reading this book, i do now really want to go back and read all the prior books in this series. As soon, as I picked up this book I was hooked in the storyline as well s the characters. This book was a one day read for me.

I loved that Very and Steady relationship was a slow burn one. It fit better with the story. In addition, that the few intimate scenes they shared together were that much hotter due to the buildup. Krill is the type of bad guy that you do love to hate. I could not wait to see him "fall". It was done in a great way. Which moved fast in the final section of this book titled "The Slip". Chemical Capture may be a slow burn romance but a fast must read!… (altro)

The relationship between Finn and Charlotte, AKA Twitch, has been a very rocky one. After falling in love on a brief meeting in New York, Finn is captured and tortured while on a mission with his SEAL team. Finn comes back with half of his face scarred and as much emotional as physical damage. He finds ways to alienate Charlotte in order to force her to move on. When his path takes him to a small town called Purgatory, he finds the kind of salvation that he never expected, but there are forces waiting in the wings to put any future he might envision in jeopardy.

Past Purgatory starts out developing Finn as a tortured hero when he finds his way to Purgatory, but his journey is often interrupted with several subplots that detract from his story. One subplot involves suspense, which unfortunately, is built on a mystery that is pretty easy to figure out. In addition, the second chance romance feels artificial, making it difficult to connect with the characters. However, parts of the story do tug at the emotions, especially those involving supporting characters and the subplots do all come together at the end creating a satisfying conclusion. Overall, Past Purgatory is a good book that would have been better by either fleshing out some of the story lines or removing them all together.

Past Purgatory is a great read full of tension, suspense, humor and second chances! This is the fourth book in the Bishop Security series and so far each book has been fantastic! Each book can be read as a standalone but you'll miss out on getting to know some great characters! I really enjoyed Finn and Charlotte's story! It was great to see Finn change and grow throughout the book! It was interesting following along as the mystery unfolded! There were a few entertaining twists and everything came together nicely for a satisfying ending! Thank you Traveling Pages Tours and Debbie Baldwin for sharing this book with me!… (altro)
