This book started well, with the premise that all Christians are 'called' in some way, whether to overtly Christian or 'secular' work. It's primarily intended for those who intend to work in the business world or 'marketplace', as the author puts it.

It begins well with some sound Biblical principles to follow, and suggestions for noting down one's strengths, gifts, passions, and so on. There's nothing particularly new or original, but it's well presented, and the focus is on each person helping to grow the Kingdom of God, whatever they do as a job or career.

The second half of the book read more like a business guide, however, with recommendations about communications, time management, reducing stress. etc. Probably all good ideas, but not offering anything new or even specifically Christian, despite Bible verses appearing at the head of each section.

Admittedly this book really isn't relevant to me at present, and would perhaps be more useful to a young person bewildered by the available options for starting work. But I found the emphasis too business-orientated, and the focus too much on high-powered ambitious types.
