Arlington Edition

I could read only one story of this collection. And it was so interesting and sweet that I wanted to read more,.but the pages are crumbling. My lap, the couch, the floor are littered with hundreds of little tan splinters of paper. This is really too bad for I wanted very to keep this for my Christmas book collection. The story was about a boy, Harry May, who lives with his aunt and mother, His father is a captain who may be lost at see. Harry goes off by himself to an evening church service where he sits up in the loft all by himself. He makes himself comfortable on the pew, soon falls asleep and begins to dream. The family wakens the town when they realize Harry is not in his own bed. The story ending is sweet and endearing. The contents lists these additional titles: The Kingdom of Shimmer, Annie's Valentine, The Travelers' Club, The Adventure of Tiny, Jack's Circus, and How the Canary Bird Caught Cold. The chapter about the travelers includes stories about a dog, a chicken-bone, a bat, a sunbeam, a rat and moonbeam. There is no publication date. It is really just too bad, the paper was so inferior for the green and black printed and embossed cover is just lovely but I can't even display it so it must go. I hate it when books fall apart. A book collector really likes to keep her books for the long run.… (altro)
