Andrea Tippel; Christoph Benjamin Schulz

Between 1993 and 2009, Andrea Tippel (1945-2012) worked on the highly idiosyncratic novel 'Ich Und Sie', which consists only of three-letter words. Despite, or perhaps because of, this formal limitation, the result is a surprisingly linguistically playful work that is fascinating because it constantly oscillates between nonsense and profundity. It deals with love and being on the road, transience and death. Throughout her life, Tippel self-published the manuscript in various versions in small editions - a process that she also used for some of her artist's books because it gave her the freedom to publish beyond established publishing conventions. This edition is a facsimile of the last version of the novel in typescript, for the first time as a publisher's publication, edited and with a text by Christoph Benjamin Schulz. As was the case for the editions published by the artist herself, photocopying was used as a reproduction method and a simple adhesive binding was used.

Zwischen 1993 und 2009 arbeitete die Zeichnerin Andrea Tippel (1945–2012) an dem höchst eigenwilligen Roman Ich Und Sie, der nur aus dreibuchstabigen Wörtern besteht. Trotz, oder gerade wegen, dieser formalen Beschränkung ist ein überraschend sprachspielerisches Werk entstanden, das fasziniert, weil es stets zwischen Unsinn und Tiefsinn oszilliert. Es handelt von der Liebe und dem Unterwegssein, der Vergänglichkeit und dem Tod. Zeit ihres Lebens vertrieb Tippel das Manuskript in unterschiedlichen Fassungen in kleinen Auflagen im Selbstverlag – ein Verfahren, dass sie auch für einige ihrer Künstlerbücher nutzte, weil es ihr die Freiheit gab, jenseits etablierter Verlagskonventionen publizieren zu können. Diese Ausgabe ist ein Faksimile der letzten Fassung des Romans in Schreibschrift, der nun erstmalig als Verlagspublikation vorliegt, herausgegeben und mit einem Text von Christoph Benjamin Schulz. Wie von der Künstlerin für die von ihr selbst veröffentlichten Ausgaben wurde auf die Photokopie als Reproduktionsverfahren und eine einfache Klebebindung zurückgegriffen.… (altro)
