The Kindle format is not structured well so the reading experience is jarring. Nonetheless, this is a good alternative historical account revolving around Marilyn Monroe's death and Jimmy Dean undergoes an investigation behind the reason. The book is written in the present tense, so readers read the narrative in real-time. A personal pleasant way to read since nothing in the future can be foreseen and readers learn what happens at the same time as the characters.

I found it fascinating how easily you could get sucked into the world of characters you already knew, like Jimmy Dean and Elvis Presley. Going back in time was immensely enjoyable.

Jimmy is not sure that Marilyn committed suicide because she is dead. He began by looking at what he believed to be her diary as he didn't believe it to be a suicide. The narrative took a direction I certainly was not expecting, which was excellent.

3.75 Stars. I rarely read novel-length fantasy. But, on the strength of the prose and characterization in Alliss’ science-fiction adventure novels FR[A]ME and Futures Orphans, it was a pretty safe bet I’d find rel="nofollow" target="_top">All The Dead Stars an engaging read also.

I felt a little at sea at first, thrust into a world so different from our own. The world-building is vivid, but early on readers see that world from the perspective of a character that is also a little lost within it, Mischa. Push through this. When alternative character perspectives were introduced, I found my footing. And, Mischa and Echo’s plights struck a chord. Just like the Needles of the overthrown Tapestry, Alliss skilfully weaves together seemingly disparate story threads.
