There are soo many amazing places to visit in Texas that have hilarious and unique stories surrounding them.
This book missed the mark on capturing these spots. While the book does include a lot of must see attractions, the words leave a lot to be desired when it comes to actually persuading someone to visit them. Instead of focusing on giving insight about the destinations, the words are more focused on just trying to be funny, and force as many jokes that will fit.
If you just need a solid list to get your research started, this is a great list, but don't let their words steer you away from any of the sites.
Example From the text:
"Castle Falkenstein.
About: Come and experience a lil bit of Bavaria, Texa-style. From fairy tale weddings to lavish getaway, you can have it all! This entire castle can be booked with its beautiful 14,000 sq ft garden to enjoy and make your own.
Quirk: Feel like havin' a reign-y day? Joust do it!"
All of the listing read like that. Little information, weird dad jokes.
The story about this castle is unique and romantic, and worth the visit to their website to read about it. The 360 view at one of the high points in the Texas Hill Country gives you views of the purest blue skies you will ever experience, and if you go in the spring, you will be in awe of the fields of wildflowers. But you don't have to book it to experience it. Driving down Park Road 4 you will be able to spot it from many places for a picture perfect moment. If you ever find yourself in Central Texas, the view of this castle in the tree tops is a worth the drive from Austin.
Perfect trip on a budget: Book a weekend trip to Marble Falls, and mark this down as one of your must drive by sights.
Perfect trip to splurge on: Book the castle. While it would make the perfect backdrop for a wedding, it would also be a fun place to host a family event, or friend weekend trip.
