This is a PJ Library version of a story originally published by Agur Publishing House and Modan Publishing House LTD in 2016.

The flaps of the book talk about Chelm stories, folktales (that "prompt us to think about how we might behave ourselves", the moon in Judaism, and how to make an edible moon chart.

In this version of capturing the moon, the citizens of Chelm collect money to buy the full moon so that they can use during the darkest nights of the month. An unscrupulous innkeeper shows sells their delegation a barrel of water with the full moon's reflection. Alas, by the time the group returns---two weeks later---the moon can no longer be found in the barrel.

It's not the nicest Chelm story. I would have preferred one where the Chelmites fool themselves, rather than be tricked by someone else. I especially like the stories that carry logic to an extreme, ridiculous result. But I digress.½
