Excellent pictorial look at the history of the May 4th 1970 historical event, with black and white photographs from the Akron Beacon Journal and KSU Special Collections. The book starts with a brief history of the founding of the university, leads into a history of student activism and previous rallies and protests, then shows what happened, the aftermath, including lawsuits against the Guard and against the student protestors, and includes a chapter on Tent City--the protest in 1977 against the gym annex construction that covered up some of the hillside site of the shooting. Ends with photos and text showing some of the commemorations that have taken place in the years since, and the 1990 dedication of the May 4th Memorial. Includes index and bibliography.… (altro)
