I like reading BDSM themed books. This book was well written. I might have been able to give it 5 stars without the BDSM element. I don't know, it just hit me the wrong way. Adding that element. I am unable to express my reasons for how I ended up giving this book 3 stars. ( )

Well at first I did not see how this book could move along without being a billion pages long & being only 262 pages I thought there was no way the story could progress at a stead believable pace. Oh was I so Wrong!
Hot sex scenes - not dripping in raunchiness but fairly detailed.
Along with hot sex the story was utterly romantic!

Not a bad read. Very similar to the Master of the Shadowlands in story. Basically the same but with different cast of characters. ( )

Absolutely loved it.

Whereas some of the author's titles seem to be part of a series of novels, this book is a stand alone story.
This title made me want to read more of her work.
I have since read Master of the Mountain, another stand alone work by this author and was not disappointed there either.

One thing I didn't like in the writing of The Dom's Dungeon were a couple of seemingly explanatory phrases throughout the book that seem to be there to clarify the Dom's behaviour or state of mind but are written in the form of bdsm truths. Examples from the opening scene: "A Dom had a duty to give a submissive what she needed, not always what she wanted..." and on the same page "A sub always needed to know the reason for punishment." Furtheron in the novel an even more annoying phrase came up: "...as your Dom..." and insert something that Alex wants or needs from MacKensie. A minor grievance only because the writing is in all other aspects excellent.

Highly recommended if you like bdsm erotic romance to have good writing and a story line. The characters are well developed, believable and likeable. The scene descriptions are hot. ( )
