Ms. Yates adds fantastic backdrops and believable characters, with a giant dollop of drama. If you want beefy men, who are on testosterone-overload, then this may not be the story for you. However, if you enjoy a good emotional rollercoaster ride, you should pick up a copy of To Keep and to Love . 5 of 5 nymphs Scandalous Minx @ Literary Nymphs The love scenes between Daniel and Ryan are poignant, erotic, and funny all at the same time. Their willingness to love, cherish and accept each other is inspiring. The unfolding threat against them ensnares the reader from the start as Daniel and Ryan fight to keep each safe. With the help of their many friends and family they somehow manage to cope with situations that would overwhelm most people. 5 stars Teresa @ Rainbow Reviews Sequel to To Find and to Keep Ryan Johnston and Daniel Miller, reunited at Ryan's twin sister's wedding after four years of forced separation, are hoping to build a happy life together. Ryan wants nothing more than to be an equal partner to his lover, but his self-confidence is very low and his biggest fear is that he has nothing to contribute to their future. Daniel, thinking all is well now that Ryan has accepted his marriage proposal, is unprepared when their relationship is threatened. Ryan's homophobic parents plan to break up the couple, and they let nothing stand in their way as they attack Ryan, hoping to force him to end the engagement and leave town forever. It almost worksâRyan is ready to give in to protect his loverâbut Daniel isn't willing to let him go. Ryan can fight the outside forces trying to tear them apart, but only if he realizes what his fears of unworthiness are doing to the man he loves. Daniel and Ryan will have to stand together to protect their right to keep each other and their love. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |

Ryan's parents turn from more than disapproving bigots into stalkers who threaten Ryan and try to guilt him into therapy to cure his "aversion." At the same time, Ryan starts feeling inadequate and unable to contribute to the relationship. These aren't bad, or completely unrealistic storylines. However, it went way beyond what was believable for this story. Everything is perfect for Ryan. Dan is rich and part-owner of several popular restaurants. His sister, married to his best friend, live next door. Dan's parents "adopt" Ryan and become the parents he needs and he's a blossoming artist who almost immediately gets a showing at a gallery. I like happily ever after, but Ryan's "inadequacy" felt forced and unnecessary. And the escalating stalking took a backseat to the "drama" of planning their wedding.
The stalking could have been a good foundation to build the book on - I was interested enough I skimmed through the sex scenes (explicit, but way beyond boring vanilla) to see where it went. Only, it was anticlimactic. This was as good as the first novella, but not enough to get me to read more by the author. I like HEA, but there are many more offerings that also give more plot and character development. ( )
