As a young woman, Betty climbed the professional ladder as a writer the best she could as a woman in that time period. As Betty married and had children, she was plagued with guilt for going back to work while she had young children to raise. Betty loved being a mother, but when she was not working she longed for more purpose in her life. Betty wrote from home for magazines for many years, but finally decided to tackle writing her own book after realizing that many women were secretly battling the same guilt she had. Betty wrote a novel on the social influences on the lives of women. The novel was an instant hit amoungst women. After her sucess, Betty was aproached about starting a women's rights movement. Such a radical idea scared Betty, but she eventually decided that she must do something. Betty and twelve other women started the National Organization of Women (NOW), and sparked a revolution that would fight for equality for women. ( ) nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
