This book can be used in art as well as social studies when studying notable people. Who Was Jim Henson? by Joan Holub is a wonderful book that tells of a boy with a dream and how he took that dream to make a name for himself. This book lets the reader into the personal side of the puppet master and see how it started as a boy, and on up. Very detailed and enjoyable read. Lots of fun sketches and over 100 pages of info on this great imaginative man. A real loss to lose him so young in his life. This book is made for middle grade/teens but adults will find they love it too. I got this book from the library. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Jim Henson was a brilliant artist/ creator or imaginative things. He had a vision and he had the ability to make that vision come true. He had many ideas and many thoughts and suggestions as to how to go about making his Muppets well known and popular. He was a guy that was before his time when it came to his ability to making inanimate objects appear to be real. He figured out ways to do this without the use of computer graphics.
I learned quite a bit about him in this book that I didn’t already know. If you are wanting to learn about him and his life, this is a really good book to pick up and read. I look forward to sharing it with my children. (
