i won this book, my first win at goodreads! the description of it lead me to belive it was more than what it is. the short quote sections were ok, but i really didnt get the longer sections, which i guess are meant to help you be a better person. i'm really not into books like that.

I thought that, while short, this book was very thought-provoking. The author is extremely skilled at saying a lot in only a few words. This book was broken up into three different sections. The first section consisted of short passages, not very different from a quote-of-the-day type deal. The second section contained a few philosophical-type essays. The final section was short story fiction. Overall, a very good read. ( )

The whole book struck me as if it was a teenager's diary. Someone who is thinks that they are being deep, but really has no life history or struggles to base anything profound on. There are some nice thoughts and ideas in here, but it all felt a little superficial to me. Don't get me wrong, I am a happy, peaceful person, but the whole thing struck me as trite. ( )

A short, easy read full of palatable bits of wisdom. The book's simplicity, while sometimes too extreme, is for the most part a strength. Very pick-up-and-read: Every spare moment, in a grocery store line or before a meeting, becomes an opportunity for pondering the wonders of life.

I was not extremely impressed with this book. The writing style was a little bit confusing. However, I did like How To Go From A Democracy To A Dictatorship 2.0 - in Twelve Steps. Did this happen to be written about a certain ex-president? It rang very true to me. I don't think this was the worst book I have ever read, but I dont think it was the best either. ( )
