Jeremy is a child who always wants to show off to Sam by saying "Look what I've got". He does not share and wants Sam to be envious. When Jeremy brags, bad things seem to happen to him. He brags about his bike, and crashes it. He did play soccer with Sam, but Jermey was not very good.He brags about the candy he has and proceeded to eat it all without sharing, then he felt ill. Terrorized Sam with a gorilla suit, but was attacked by a lady's dog.He brags about a pirate sword and children in the woods that were also playing pirate made Jeremy walk to plank. Sam helped pull Jeremy out of the water. Jeremy was still trying to brag about his father taking him to the zoo, but Sam did not listen. Maybe he did not wasn't to listen because he knew it was nothing to be jealous of and would most likely end in some sort of disaster. I Enjoyed the art work style of the book. The last page when it says "But Sam wasn't listening" is the most interesting page. He is looking out in the woods, and you see animals that he sees his imagination. There is an owl, cat, pig, sheep, deer, snail, frog, alligator, bunny and a horse. It goes to show that his imagination is most likely more acute than Jeremy's and he does not need all those things to enjoy his life. this book is a k-3, white children depicted, could still be a book for anyone. This story shows two very different young boys. The first child, Jeremy, is a huge bragger; he seems to get whatever he wants. The young boy, Sam, does not seem to care. Jeremy brags about everything he has and Sam pays no attention to him. "Look what I've got", is Jeremy's famous line to Sam whenever he receives a new toy or item. When Jeremy finds himself in trouble drowning, Sam saves him. This story can teach children to never stoop to another person's level if they are being ugly. Always stay true to ones self and always stay nice to others no matter what. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
Jeremy keeps trying to impress Sam by boasting of all his belongings and activities but in the end it is Sam who has the last word and the last laugh. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |

I love how Anthony Browne uses cute interesting stories to get important messages across to kids. The important message in this story is that you should never stoop to another person's level when they are being mean. I like how Browne incorporates animals into his books somehow, in this story the animals were in the illustrations. Sam was using his imagination throughout the book, it was like he was escaping to his happy place in his mind whenever Jeremy was being mean. ( )
