The book is set in Ethiopia, two young girls from different ethnic backgrounds must leave their home in order to protect their own lives. One young girl is blind, traveling with her brother over the mountains of northern Ethiopia. The other is the same age, traveling with her Uncle, the only two who survived attacks on their family. When the men are sent back across the mountains by soldiers, the girls learn to put aside their different backgrounds and gain courage from each other. Based on true accounts of Jewish Ethiopians fleeing to the Sudan and ultimately Jerusalem. ( ) This story by Jane Kurtz is a lot like most of her stories. She describes experiances of a young girl. In this particular one, two girls that are different learn to become friends and accept each others differences. I think this is a good book to read to children because they need to know that it doesnt matter if everyone believes the same thing that you do. Most of the time people actually get along and can cope with each others differences. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
