I liked this book for two reasons. First, I liked the writing. The author was very clear and organized as she engaged readers into this story. The story flowed well as the grandma and the baby frog did many different activities throughout the day. For example, Grandma and the frog went to yoga class, went swimming, made lunch, and did many other fun things throughout the book. A second thing I liked about this book was the illustrations. These illustrations were fitting to the written text and represented each activity that Grandma and the frog did. For instance, when the frog hides in the secret closet under the stairs in Grandma’s house, the illustration gives readers a chance to see what frog hiding is actually like. Overall, the big idea of the story is love. The frog loves her Grandma and the many memories that they make together when she stays at Grandma’s house. ( )
