Amanda Beeson is the most popular girl in Meadowbrook school. She loves to be a bully to other kids and ignore people. One morning Amanda finds herself looking in the mirror in someone else's face. She later finds out that is was Tracey Devon who has the ability to disappear. Now Amanda has to go to a class for "Gifted" students, or otherwise known as a class for students out of the extraordinary. With Ken, Jenna, Emily, and Charles in the same class Amanda has to now live in someone else's shoes and be in the same class and accept these students as friends. Amanda has not yet known how she could be her own self in Tracey's body but Jenna and Madame have figured out that Tracey is not in her own body but someone else is. Amanda finds her own gift in the end when she has to save Emily from being taken by hypnotism.

I thought this book was very interesting. I've always wished i could have the power to become invisible or something along the lines of a gift that was extraordinary. Have you ever wondered what it could be like? it will then show that difference from others can be dangerous and other times not. Mostly this book is seeing how the people who hang around you when your popular can change on you just by going to the bathroom to gossip about others and you. Being popular doesn't mean you have the greatest friends, it means that you are the one who takes over control of their minds and later they wake up from their own "hypnotism" to find how mean you can be to others. This book isn't just about entertainment, its also about how life in other people's shoes can change your life in reality. I recommend this book to those who really think that being popular is right and those who think that popularity is worse than you can imagine. Popularity is about being in control, not being loving, caring, or kind. ( )

Library Summary: "Queen of Mean Amanda Beeson, 13, gets the shock of her life when she wakes up one morning to find herself in the body of one of her victims, Tracey Devon. Amanda discovers that Tracey, ignored at home and school, has the ability to become invisible. When Amanda finds herself in a special class that Tracey usually attends, it becomes clear that at Meadowbrook Middle School the definition of "gifted" has a whole other meaning. Can Amanda rescue her one-time target from obscurity andget her own life back on track? In order to do so, she will have to reveal her own startling gift and take her rightful place among Meadowbrook's very secret clique"

I really liked this book. But I didn't like it as much as I thought I would.

There wasn't that much content in the book. But the content it had was really good! I really liked that the main character was a snobby popular girl who got stuck in the body of someone who is the exact opposite! I like that she sees what life is like for someone who is unpopular. That is what I liked about this book. I would recommend this to all my friends. ( )

Amanda Beeson is Queen Bee at Meadowbrook Middle School delivering putdowns and comments on other students in the school, little do people know her secret. However one morning she finds herself looking at someone elses face in the mirror. One of the very unpopular girls in the school. Now she has to face up to the issues that this person has and find a way back to herself. She also finds herself in the Gifted class in the school.

It's an interesting concept, I'm curious where the author is going to take this story. It did echo a lot of stuff I've read recently and there were a few plotholes that it will be interesting to see how she's going to deal with them, if she bothers. ( )

Amanda is the queen of the eighth grade until she wakes up in the body of class loser, Tracey. Now all Amanda can think about is getting back to herself. Until then she has to cope with being Tracey, including going to the "Gifted" class that turns out to be for kids with special powers. As she tries to make the best of a bad situation, she learns that she may have more in common with this motley crew of misfits than she ever would have believed.

I enjoyed this book. It is really more of a book about friendship and family than magical powers. It is also about learning to accept who you are. I found the characters interesting and the message clear but not preachy. I think this would be great for tweens and teens. The characters are 13 years old so this series will be especially good for tweens. ( )
