This was a nicely written book about the invention of the shuttle cock in an industrial weaving machine at the clothing mill. It is an inspiring lesson that even a young girl can invent something. This girl did research, drew up an idea, then made a model, then kept working with the model, making improvements. In the end, she designed a safety system instead of re-creating a safer shuttle. The book was detailed in the invention process but should have had more detain on the final product. Another book for an invention unit, or maybe a recommendation to a student who is struggling with self-confidence. ( )
