When her twin sister, Cartwright, disappears, Cassidy Drummond can’t help wondering if her father a congressman known as much for his philandering as for his politics—has something to do with it. Desperate and deeply frightened, she turns to Frank Pavlicek for help. But Frank isn’t convinced it’s foul play. And soon the falconer is following a treacherous trail of family secrets and scandal to the most dangerous discovery of all the truth….“The book’s title [A Killing Sky] comes from the sky’s appearance at a time of day when falcons and hawks like to hunt… and the imagery hits its mark, just as Frank’s redtailed hawk, Armistead, hits hers near the wholly satisfactory end of this engaging and involving story.” —Reviewing the Evidence A serviceable mystery, in which P.I. Frank Pavlicek searches for the missing daughter of a shady congressman. Slick and readable but nothing to make it stand out from the pack, aside from the protagonist's interest in falconry, which adds a bit of spice to his characterization, but has nothing to do with the plot. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

The plot here is one we have seen so many times before. The falconry is a nice addition but really the book is nothing special.
I received a review copy of "A Killing Sky: A Frank Pavlicek Mystery" by Andy Straka (Brash). It was originally published in 2002 by Signet. This Kindle edition, as mentioned earlier by A. McAdams, contains a number of typos that could have been avoided. ( )
