Cute, not impressive. I expect more of Justine Davis. The events were very convenient - I particularly recall the bit where the guy with one leg is trapped underwater - by his artificial leg, of course. Their reasons for hating one another were also rather contrived - well, they were supposed to be (that is, they were caused by someone else's plans and actions), but for a couple in real love they gave in way too easily. Especially her - accepting being blackmailed into marriage? Really? What did she expect from said marriage? Sheesh. Weak and convenient characters are not what I expect from Justine Davis. This series was an early one, but still. I'm not exactly sorry I read it, but I don't intend to read this again. ( )
