Another good story in this series. You can read each story as a stand alone, but each story does deal with the same town and a lot of the same people, so reading them in order would give you a better over-all pictures of what is going on.

David Ryland is bringing a Middle Eastern orphan back to Texas for a lifesaving surgery. While he is back on base David will once again wrestle with not ever knowing who his father was. Meanwhile a late war hero on his deathbed, reveals to his daughter that he had an illegitimate son (David), before she was born. Now that daughter, Trisha, must deal with how to tell him. She begs her best friend, Anna, not to tell David this news. The problem is Anna is growing quite fond of David and doesn't want to keep this secret from him. What happens when David discovers the truth is how this book will end, so I will let the reader figure that out on their own. Enjoy. ( )
