Sometimes I think that my whole life is on film, that my whole life is in print. But it's not like that, there are things which are only in my heart - that no one knows. At last I have decided to tell everything Diego Armando Maradona needs little introduction. A poor boy from a Buenos Aires shanty-town, his genius with a ball took him to the heights of European and World football, and his struggle with the pressures of life inside and outside the game pulled him right back down again. Hero or villain, one thing is certain: he was the greatest footballer of his generation - and perhaps of all time. Never before has Maradona given us his extraordinary story in his own words. Until now. From his poverty-stricken origins to his greatest glories, Maradona recounts, with astonishing frankness, and brilliant footballing insight, the pivotal moments of a legendary life - the pressures of being a child prodigy, that game against England in the 1986 World Cup, an incredible achievement and the dream turned sour at Napoli, and the shame and disgrace of USA 1994. A truly inspirational authentic autobiography book, for any football fan of any age. This book gives a historical over-view and insight to the rise and fall of Diego Maradona, from humble beginnings, to success, world cup victory to using drugs. Contains multiple pictures within its format of classic Maradona footballing moments, including the sublime moment of his career, holding the world cup in Mexico 1986. This book is a treasure for fans of Diego. The books format follows in a time-scale pattern, from late 1970s to late 1990s, almost twenty years of Diego;s life. Very enjoyable and informing.!!!! Diego Maradona, was probably the greatest footballer to have played the game, other people will have different opinions, the element that places Maradona above all other pretenders to his throne of the greatest player ever in my own personal opinion, is that Diego Maradona achieved greatest playing for Napoli, a team who were more use to fighting a relegation in the 1980s when Maradona joined them, raising them up against the might of Italy & Europe to win the league and UEFA Cup, the majority of other players that have called themselves the greatest during the past 50 years, tend to spend their entire careers at elite clubs, very few join lesser teams and transform them into world beaters. Would any of these other players have the ability to join a team lower in the league and transform them almost singled handily into champions? I think the majority of football fans who enjoy a typical autobiography would enjoy reading this..... ( )
