Diego Maradona, was probably the greatest footballer to have played the game, other people will have different opinions, the element that places Maradona above all other pretenders to his throne of the greatest player ever in my own personal opinion, is that Diego Maradona achieved greatest playing for Napoli, a team who were more use to fighting a relegation in the 1980s when Maradona joined them, raising them up against the might of Italy & Europe to win the league and UEFA Cup, the majority of other players that have called themselves the greatest during the past 50 years, tend to spend their entire careers at elite clubs, very few join lesser teams and transform them into world beaters. Would any of these other players have the ability to join a team lower in the league and transform them almost singled handily into champions?
