Readers see Pooh getting carried away in Pooh and the Dragon by Ann Braybrooks. In this picture book Pooh is confused by hearing the word dragonfly and instead pictures an actual dragon flying around the Hundred Acre Wood. He quickly sets out to protect his honey and ask his friends if they have ever seen the dragon. In the end he figures out his mistake and sees the dragonfly. In the classroom this book could be used as an early reader. The illustrations match the animations in the show and movies more than in the original books. The picture take up the whole page consistently and I like that because it keeps the attention of the reader and kids can take pauses to look at the details of each illustration. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Pooh hears Roo say he saw a dragonfly and assumes Roo meant he saw a dragon fly by in the sky. He also assumes dragons love honey, so he gets all stressed and decides it would be best to be proactive and trap it. So, in the end, it all ends up being a copy of -- or to be generous -- homage to the Heffalump sequences from the Milne book and Disney movies. But with dragons.
Blech.
(My Pooh Project: I love Winnie the Pooh, and so does my wife. Having a daughter gave us a chance to indoctrinate her into the cult by buying and reading her every Pooh book we came across. How many is that? I’m going to count them this year by reading and reviewing one every day and seeing which month I finally run out. Track my progress here:
