This is a useful and entertaining little monograph of the conduct of the American submarine war through the prism of Brisbane, Australia. What this means is that one gets an examination of such matters as logistical support, alliance cooperation, and civil affairs that wouldn't necessarily be examined in a book mostly devoted to combat operations; not that strategy and operations are slighted.
