This story had a little bit of a mystery attached to it. Dr. Nora Blake is operating on a little boy who needs some repair work on his heart (you would have read more about this little boy in the 1st 3 stories in this series). Investigative reporter Robert Dale is in town to do a story on the little boy who came to America to have his surgery, and to report on the organization who helped get him here. But Nora seems to have some secrets of her own and Rob's skill at digging deep will uncover things that just can't be true about this woman who Rob is starting to care for. Nora is definitely not easy to get to know in this story, but once you do, you realize how deeply she does care.

This is another 'love inspired heartwarming inspirational romance" story in this series of stories about 'homecoming heroes'. Each book begins with a verse of scripture to go with the story; I liked this verse a lot, "May he turn our hearts to him, to walk in all his ways and to keep the commands, decrees and regulations he gave our fathers." (I Kings 8:58) ( )

This is an inspirational romance. Nora, a pediatric heart surgeon, and Rob, an investigative reporter, become involved when Rob goes to a small Texas town to do an article on Children of the Day - in particular a small boy, Ali, who needed heart surgery. Rob discovers drug theft by Nora's partner, Dr. Kent. Before this discovery though there were problems that needed to be solved. Nora's husband had donated outdated vacines and children had died. She lost her husband and baby and her faith in God. Rob helps her find her faith again. An interesting mystery and love story. ( )
