I don't know that the presence of two authors affected the way this book was written, but it does seem as if it can't quite decide what it's about. Is it about the people who built the Voyager probes that gave us our first detailed look at the outer planets of our solar system, or is it about the explorations themselves?
As the book now stands, it's about both. The first half is mostly about funding and personnel issues, the second is mostly about science, but there is something of both in each part. Whether you like the result will depend on your taste. I could have used more science and less funding issues -- although, of course, without the funding battles, there would have been no Voyager probes. But your mileage may vary. If you want both, this book is for you. If you want only one, it might give you the information to pick out a better book for next time. But you may find yourself skipping some sections. ( )
