Hank comes up with some specious reasons why he and Drover should make sure that Pete the Barncat doesn't eat the best breakfast scraps. Pete warns Hank that he saw a certain venomous reptile near the Lopers' pile of junk parts. Hank later decides it was just a trick. He soon finds out he was wrong, but remains in a state of denial for some time.
High and Slim are leaving for a few days to help a neighboring rancher, leaving Sally May to care for Hank. We learn that the Lopers have been married for ten years in Sally May's tirade about this fact. Loved the list of what High was going to have to do for her in return. Seems that Hank's master has been neglecting his honey do list.
The trip to the veterinarian was sheer torture for Sally May because she's making it in Slim's filthy pickup truck. Little Molly Loper does something that Hank turns into a lively little song, even better than the lament he sings about what happened to him. Little Alfred Loper tries to help his mother, but she doesn't appreciate it.
Hank finds part of the vet's advice to Sally May extremely insulting. I found myself anticipating the possibility the vet was correct.
The scene with buzzards Wallace and Junior was very enjoyable, as was Hank's payback to Pete. I felt sorry for both Hank and Sally May, but that didn't keep me from laughing. Loved Sally May's revenge on Slim.
Mr. Erickson's voice change for Hank while he was sick was good. The only old song used for background music that I remember the name for was 'London Bridge is Falling Down,' but the tunes fit the scenes.
I definitely recommend listening to this entry. ( )
