Other parts of the book about sources and theological background are suitable for a certain type of reader who has interest in religious catechism and Reformed history. The irenic spirit of the document is discussed and the inability of scholars to pinpoint it on the theological spectrum of the Reformation (Is it Zwinglian, Calvinist, or a mixture?) is an important part of the second half of the book.
It also contains a first translation of Ursinus' large and small catechism. A valuable resource.
Because this work contains several contributors, there is a distinction between the different authors and their styles.
An excellent guide to a remarkable time of change in church and state. ( )
