Reminiscent of Alison McGhee’s “Little Boy” and “Someday”, “Love you Forever” by Robert Munsch and even Lisa McCourt’s “I love you, Stinky Face”. A Sweet, little book that will pull at your heart strings and make you think ‘YES! This is what I wanted to say to my child’. So if you can’t get your mouth to form the words, pick up this book, or one of the others and read it to him/her over and over and over. The small child in this picture book continually tests his mother by asking her if she will still love him if is good or if he is not so good. For example, he wants to know - "Do you love me when I'm in my time-out chair?" and "Do you love me when I go right to bed? Do you love me when I don't?" After all the "Do you…" questions, the little boy's mother replies, "No matter what you do I'll always love you." Since I think it is important to continually reaffirm the love we have for our children this book's message is excellent. Does mom still love me when I don’t do what I am supposed to? This boy goes through a list of situations, asking his mom if she loves him then. Does she love him when he eats all his peas? How about when he doesn’t? The text is simple and the watercolor illustrations are a perfect match. Of course, in the end, his mother lets him know that she loves him no matter what, and isn’t that what all kids need to hear? nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
