I read this for the "A Genre You Don't Normally Care For" part of my 2020 reading challenge. This was a story of the action figure Traction Man working with Turbodog to find Scrubbing Brush. Scrubbing Brush was adorable, but the rest of the artwork and the story didn't really grab me. ( )

This book showcases the imagination of a young boy playing with his favorite action figure, Traction Man. Traction Man and his trusted pet, Scrubbing Brush, go on many daring adventures together. After climbing Mount Compost, Scrubbing Brush goes missing and in his place is TurboDog. Traction Man reluctantly takes TurboDog and departs on a mission to find Scrubby Brush. After searching high and low, Traction Man rescues his loyal pet from the garbage and the two of them happily await their next adventure. Set up like a comic book, I could see this book possibly inspiring children to create their own. ( )

Traction man's illustrations are great for testing the imagination of it's readers through everyday objects. However the story line doesn't seem to have that same enticing imagination. The characters are fun to follow, but I believe this is just a fun book to read. ( )

Traction Man's sidekick Scrub Brush has been thrown away by his human owners because he is too dirty. Turbo Dog is brought in to be a better sidekick but he cannot hack it. Traction Man looks for Scrub Brush. This is a funny book about cleanliness and neatness. It is more for older toddlers who understand about getting dirty. ( )

brave story about the search for a scrub brush that gets canned. Traction Man is looking everywhere for his best friend and partner. Good and fun story line for boys but overall, not an educational pick. ( )
