Another classic Grace Livingston Hill story. She may not be an author everyone likes, but I have always enjoyed her stories and the way she incorporates the Lord into all her stories. There is the obvious evil versus good in this book, and God is always bigger than any persons problems. In this story Barney Vance returns home from the war to recuperate and realizes that the little girl, "Sunny" has grown up into a beautiful godly young lady. Their time together though may be cut short as Barney requests permission to return to enemy territory and try to find his good friend "Stormy" who has been taken prisoner behind enemy lines.

There are real conflicts at home and abroad in this story. You will follow Stormy trying to escape the enemy and you will follow Barney as he tries to recuperate at home amidst those who love him for who he is, and others who follow him because of what he has accomplished in the service. Going in the strength of the Lord is the motto for them both, which is a motto we all should try to live by. ( )
