A rich young girl and her many siblings are recently orphaned. She overhears her horrible relatives debating what to do with all of them (boarding school, military school, marrying her off to the highest bidder). She and her teenage brother round up the rest of the kids and they all run off to the family boat to hide until Big Sis comes of age at the end of the summer. They have many adventures, close calls, and hardships (once they leave the boat) before they find a Christian family camp in the woods where they find shelter, faith, and the "head of the house" finds true love.
