I really enjoyed the satire in this! Jenkins must have updated some of the text as there was at least on Hilary Clinton reference (!). I am sorry that I missed the first English production of this play, which happened at the ART not far from my home... however, even though it would be better to see it performed, this is a play that reads well. I look forward to reading some more Fo! ( )

La rebelión de una mujer, Antonia, que junto a otras muchas mujeres de su barrio, en el momento de hacer la compra en el supermercado, comprueba indignada, que los precios han vuelto a subir escandalosamente otra vez más y deciden rebelarse y llevarse los alimentos sin pagar o pagando un precio altamente rebajado. Antonia vive con Juan, un honrado obrero de izquierdas. Son un matrimonio humilde, sumido por las circunstancias de un país en crisis. Antonia se ve envuelta en una serie de mentiras en las que incluye a Margarita, su vecina casada con Luis, compañero de trabajo de Juan y con el que comparte una sincera amistad. Como siempre en estos casos, el engaño crece hasta que todos se ven envueltos en situaciones insostenibles, estallando el conflicto y sobre todo mostrando las penalidades por las que atraviesa una sociedad, en la que el paro y la inflación económica son los detonantes de una serie de movilizaciones y enfrentamientos entre la clase obrera y los empresarios, mientras la clase política y los sindicatos piden tranquilidad y orden, aunque crezca la injusticia. La única alternativa que tienen es la desobediencia civil. ( )
