Trains is great book that gives a lot of information over different types of trains. The different types of trains that are featured have a short paragraph of information that tells what the trains were used for and how they ran. The featured trains also have small pictures above that shows the unique features each train has that makes it a little different from the rest.

I enjoy this particular informational book. I have a three year old son and he loves trains. The pictures are colorful and realistic and the book is actually part of a series that my son enjoys.

A great extension idea for books like this could be to start a lesson on different types of travel. The children could discuss the different methods of transportation, and draw the different types of transportation they encounter in their lives.
